Thoughts Of Today

Women's level and importance, I was wondering about how it was in the past or in a few places nowadays. It came up because I am reading a book where the story is set in 1600 in England. Even in a lot of movies such as Atonement or Pride & Prejudice, which are both interesting movies by the way, it can be seen that woman anywhere in the world such as England, France or even in the Arabic countries are expected to have impeccable manners, who speak when spoken to, who do what they are told to and say what they are told to. In other words, no thinking required. I am not talking about now because things have changed even though the change took a lot of time, which also happened in the Arabic countries, though in some cultures it is still not gone while a lot of other things that shouldn't are gone. But I have been wondering how it came to this in the first place, since we are not stupid and not weak? No need to mention everything that woman are capable of, it is crystal clear ;)

By the way I like the dress of the 17th century, princess style, elegant and fancy. And the Victorian houses are beautiful; that would be my dream house. It is not all bad living at that time, we must give them some credit.

I have taken the IELTS (International English Language Testing System), because it is required for university that is only eight months ahead of me. In the writing part of the test the question was who are better leader's men or woman? That was a very unfair question especially if you had to write a paragraph of 200 words in 30 minutes about this topic in particular. Since my opinion is that we need both men and woman and that both have important roles. And when it comes to leadership I believe it has more to do with character than gender so I "the blabber mouth" didn't have time to say what I had to say about this topic. Anyway my lowest mark was writing not that I didn't expect it, but still the way I write will do for university ;-)

Back to the Victorian buildings, I'd love to stay in an old Victorian style building at university, it will be the first time I'll live all by myself. Victorian Buildings, dreaming costs nothing.

Right now I am reading a book called A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. Well the title didn't really catch me but I read the review since it was on the shelf of the bestsellers, so it can't be that bad right? Well not at all, it's actually really good so far. That much to the topic never pass your judgment on how things appear. I read a line that caught me which is "Because I want to see how far I can go before I have to stop". I'll leave you to make your own thoughts on this one.
