Cold, Hot, Long, Short

The weather is getting colder, it's not cold yet though, it's around 18c. People are starting to wear coats and jackets, because there is a difference between 18c in the winter and 48c in the summer, obviously.

Two friends of mine and I went to Germany in the winter break when we were 15 years old. It is not normal that three 15 year old Bahraini girls travel all alone to Europe, but we did it. We had so much fun. My friends came back with so much new impressions. One of them was the effect of the different time setting during seasons, which is something no one thought of here, because it just doesn't exist. For example, the summer days in Germany are so long, the sun goes down at around 10pm. It is so different and new that it already sounds funny to them. In Bahrain the day's length in summer and in winter aren't much different.

This year in school we were taught that in some countries the time is reset in the summer and winter. My class-mates found this really weird.
